Amman to Beijing
So I may be jumping around projects...and need to go directly from the Middle East to China.
Any way to do it on *A and semi-cheaply as this is for a China project and there are $$$ restraints.
I see that I can do AMM - FRA - PEK. I am assuming this is torture in LH economy.
What if I can get to CAI? Aren't there all of these cheap RTW from there etc? On the star alliance web site, I don't see flights from CAI to BKK/SIN and then up to PEK.
Thanks for any suggestions

If he's in AMM whats the point of going all the way to CAI to get to DXB?
As he's with UA, he can just fly EK and stick the miles on his UA card (only award unfortunately, not status)
The other alternative is of course TG from DXB to BKK and then on to PEK

One good option would be Qatar airways, which flies to both cities non-stop from Doha and is pretty-much on the way. You can get MP miles, but not EQMs for the flights. Here is info from United.com:

Qatar Airways
Earning miles
Qatar Airways is the national carrier of the Arabian Gulf State of Qatar. They fly to 60 plus destinations across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, the Indian subcontinent and the Far East. Simply present your Mileage Plus number when making reservations on these flights and you can earn a mileage accrual of:
Paid Economy 100%
Business Class 125%
First Class 150%
There is a 500-mile minimum accrual for travel originating worldwide to any city served Qatar Airways.
Award travel
Award travel will become available in 2006. Complete details to come.
