*G Lounge at LHR
Hi all,
As a US Airways Gold member, as well as a member of their “US Airways Club” which allows us access into the Red carpet club, I was wondering if the following is still possible:
My friends and I are flying to Paris to watch Arsenal in the Champions League Final (for our American friends this is the European Cup Soccer final- the super bowl of European soccer). We shall be flying with Air France (as BMI are more expensive and their flight times are not as good as Air France) anyway, will it still be possible to enter the Red Carpet club at LHR or any other *A lounge even though we are flying Air France?
Also, is there a dress code to these places, as we shall be waving the Red & White flag high along with our football shirts?

[QUOTE=SgtRyan]Hi all,

You sure Arsenal is the in the Champion League Finals? They still have to beat Villarreal in the Semi-finals...shouldn't be too much of a problem but then again with Benfica eliminating Liverpool and Manchester United in the previous rounds, you just never know.

on a serious note, i'm confused, I thought that as a *Gold you can use any lounge, so really there should be no problem???

You can use any :-: lounge (with a few exceptions) only when flying on a :-: airline.
To get the party started, maybe you want to check out http://www.easyjetlounges.com/
You can buy lounge access there in LHR T2 (obviously without flying easyjet)

"Star Alliance Gold Customers are identified upon presentation of a valid Frequent Flyer Programme card which shows the Star Alliance Gold logo plus a boarding card for any same day departing Star Alliance member carrier operated flight. These customers have access to any designated Star Alliance Gold lounge at the departing airport, regardless of the Star Alliance carrier they fly"."
(Italics my own)
Apart from that, the use of the word "friends" in your original post is also a worry - only 1 guest permitted with each *G member. You'd have to flip a coin for which one of them gets in with you! The rest would have to make themselves content out in the concourse.

...you see, one of the reasons for lounges is to give people a different environment than the hustle-and-bustle of the terminal. In other words, when it comes to lounges quiet = good, party = not good
