SYD-BKK on TG? I am not so sure whether they have the new seat. For PPS purpose you should do SYD-SIN-BKK though. So the routing should look like this? BKK-CCU-SIN-FRA-JFK-YYZ-YYC-YVR-ICN-SIN-SYD-SIN-BKK |

BKK-CCU-SIN-FRA-JFK-YYZ-YYC-YVR-ICN-SIN-SYD-SIN-BKK BKK-SIN-CCU-SIN-ZRH-FRA-JFK-YYC by end Jan (12.5 PPS Sectors)and then YYC-YVR-SF)-HKG-SIN-SYD-BKK in April--about 33.5 K miles. The question is this-- will the ZRH-FRA count as PPS Sector? I understand ther is a SQ codeshare and this can be booked on SQ flight numbers. |

SIN-CCU 1.25 CCU-SIN 1.25 SIN-ZRH 5 ZRH-FRA zero sector (less than 480 miles, and I did not see any SQ code-share for this route) FRA-JFK 2.5 Total only 11.25 PPS sectors. |
CGK--you were too quick. I realized the mistake after the posting. So I rechecked--how about FRA-BCN-FRA? Still within the mileage--and then 2.5 extra sectors?

No, there is no code share for FRA-BCN-FRA.
Well, I don't know when you travel, and how flexible you are. But certain days of the week, there is an SQ flight ZRH-MAN-ZRH, that few FTers had done the turn around to earn the PPS sectors. |
CGK-- I am somewhat flexible, and will consider this.Thanks. The reason I mentioned FRA-BCN was that in the PPS information page on sectors and miles-- this is mentioned as earning 1.25 sectors each way--this is the one by wearybiztraveller:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showpost.php?p=4311282 I don't know if that is still valid. |
Okay, got it. Yes, I see in SQ time table there is a code share to BCN. Here it is:
SQ26 SIN-23:50 FRA-06:30* SQ2108 FRA-07:40 BCN-09:35 AFAIK, you can earn PPS sectors on SQ codeshare intra-European, if and only if you have a direct connect, which is shown in SQ time table. But FRA-BCN segment alone without any SQ direct connection will not be eligible for sectors. Again, I may be wrong here, but that's what I gather. Also, I have read a few FTers had struggled to claim those PPS sectors for SQ codeshare flight. And also I see that you are thinking of SIN-ZRH-FRA then add BCN, thus FRA-BCN will not have SQ codeshare. That's why I mention about a turn around ZRH-MAN-ZRH on SQ which will save you all the troubles in getting sectors credit. |
CGK--Thanks!! I am plotting something different and will post it if it works out. Also, the FRA-BCN will be used only if I go SIN-FRA-BCN-FRA-JFK. Via ZRH will not work for the reasons you have mentioned.

Can't wait to see your new plan!
In the mean time, how about a longer route to CCU? SQ996 BKK-23:00 NRT-06:55* SQ997 NRT-11:30 SIN-17:40 SQ416 SIN-21:05 CCU-22:35 :D :D :D |
