On this Route Definitly LH: You have a proper C (Good Chance of the New C).

On OS you have a Chance to be an an Airbus A320 or 737:
This means: C is like on Intra-European Flights. No propper Business-Class: Economy-Class Seats whith blocked Middle Seat. You will have no Inflight-Entertainment.

Even the Old-LH C is much better on OS on that route.

I agree, I'd go for LH as well, although I'd prefer OS-C over LH-old-C on real-bus-class aircrafts.

OS uses 738 aircraft VIE-DXB with proper C seats.
Service and catering on OS C is far better than LH C short or longhaul. LH has an advantage with the new business seat only.

I just did VIE-PVG on OS and PVG-FRA on LH in old C and LH was beaten hands down by OS in terms of IFE, service and food.

I have a similar question , but to Thailand.
looking always for 4 seats on the same plane award availability is not easy.
But I still could get

ZRH-BKK on LX A340 in business
VIE-BKK on OS ( I think also A340 ) in business
FRA-BKK on LH ( in DEC. I think a old seated 747 ) in business

I know the new LH C from many flights between MUC-BKK, but they stop serving this route, so they are no longer available.
The best option would be new F / C on TG ex FRA or MUC, but they have never more than 2 seats each class available on each plane. Or C class via CPH/ARN ( which is F cabin ) , but also never available.

return I have so far F class on LH HKG-MUC.
My points are:
1.) Hit my desired dates out 20.DEC. in 06. JAN.
2.) nightflights with flatbed
3.) Not to many connections, and if dayflight an IFE

Iam not behind gourmet meals or champagne, so thats not so important.

OS uses a mix of 342, 343 and 332 on VIE-BKK. Check the *A timetable, that shows the exact dates when what type of aircraft is used. The seats are not lie flat, IFE on 342 is like LH old C, IFE on 343 and 332 is interactive. Food is wonderful.

LX 343 C class is almost as good as LH new C, except that they don't have lie flat seats. LX 344 F is very nice and on par with LH.

SK will start their lie flat C product CPH-BKK this Feb. Check the SK forum for details.

The 343 C seat is a bit better than LH old C. Electronic controls and I thought it was a bit flatter than the LH mechanical seat.

The first row is the best as you can get out of the window seat without distrubing anyone beside or in front of you. And you have access to the snack bar, which is in front of the cabin (similar to LH F in a 343). But on my last flight service started from the last row, so sitting in 1 K they had run out of choices by the time the reached me. OS carries 4 main course meal choices in C. They go around taking your main meal choice, but start at 1A work their way to the back and then come back from 5K to 1K. So make sure you take 1AB!

I don't know about seats to DXB, but on seats to BEY, OS C was far better IMHO than LH C. Didn't care much for the food as it was a late flight out of VIE. OS has seasonal service to BEY and I was initially booked on LH to BEY (via FRA) but was rerouted via VIE because of a delay in my connecting LH flight out of GVA to FRA.

OS uses the 737-800 Lauda 'Falco' OE-LNJ on their dubai route. This aircraft has actual C seats (16C/142Y). The other 738s have a plain 184Y config, but with a 30" pitch. LH has 28-29" on the A321 that run on the ME routes.
