Since no post from you this morning, I assume you solve the problem with the E-tix fiasco? Hope you will have smooth travel for the rest of your itineraries. :-:

We managed via good contacts to make SK listen and do a reissue, been in LA today, going to NRT now (SQ11 has broadband, i.e.). Due to delay in travel I dont have a hotell in Tokyo now so that will need sorting.

Also, doing the Japaneese meals. I may eat it all backward and such, but this is good food no matter how one eats it. :)

They always accomodated all my requests, but I've been shy enough that I haven't even asked for the previously mentioned manually applied lip moistenener. :)
I did think about starting a thread on a topic that has been on here a few times, that the staff are automatons, etc. I had a an experience yesterday on LAX-NRT that blew my hat and had me giggle the whole way. The staff has always been splendid with me. There are slight variations always and yesterdays crew was probably the most "laid back and american like" I've come across, which means that the cabin was unattended for wast stretches upwards to 20 mins ;) But back on track, one of the male stewards had an attitude like I've never experienced before. He moved like a robot more or less. He was physically the stiffest human being I've observed and had an aloofness like noone else I've seen, but still always smiling. Had me instantly thinking of robot-like behavior descobed on here, tho in a different sense. :) Anyway, tonigght it's UA for NRT-HKG. Then delivery of 4 kilo "brunost" (brown goats cheese) to a few fellow nationals, and then SQ to SIN and warmer climates. :) |
Oh, and I'm surprised at the speed SQ posts my PPS sectors. I had my LAX-NRT secotrs in the account before hte bus made it from NRT to Shinagawa. Also for the record, if anyone here tries to order a "minimal room" at the Shinigawa Prince Hotel, that is indeed minimal. I can stand up and stretch my arms out and reach the opposing walls at the same time, and the walls are thin enough that I am under no confusion on the topic wether or not my next door neighbour had a nice evening (as well as his companion).

You should start the thread on SQ forum. It will be funny to read a robotic male. :p But in general, I like the crew SQ11/SQ12. They are generally very fun and broadminded.
Your story about your minimal hotel room is reminded me of having to sleep in the love hotel when I was in Tokyo long time ago. :D :D Too late to go back to my friend's home in Fujisawa, and ended up sleeping in that one person cubicle to sleep on. ;) |
