getting to havana

Hi,

Is there any way to get to Havana from Washington on a Round the World ticket. Do Air Canada allow us to get to Cuba on a round the world ticket?

Appreciate any replies.

Welcome to FT kkumar50

AFAIK if you include Cuba on a ticket then you cannot include any american airlines on the same ticket. Ie no US or United. Also the issuing airline must be non-american.

Depending on where you are based and want to travel that may be very restrictive and a side-ticket to Cuba may work out better.

So long as you don't use the services of US or UA on the ticket at all ( and of course aren't a US citizen ) you could for example fly as follows on a Star RTW - just remember that you must make a minimum of three stops

DCA AC x/YYZ AC HAV AC YYZ AC LON NH TYO AC x/YYZ AC DCA

or anyone of a number of other routings depending on where else you might want to go

have fun - Cuba is somewhere I have always wanted to go - preferably while the Americans still have their daft embargo on it so that it is not overrun

Varadero is not far from Havana and OS will start flying there soon as well, which avoids costly backtracking to Canada if you're short on mileage. AC is also adding YUL-HAV later this year if you have your heart set on HAV rather than any of the 5 other ports in Cuba AC serves.
