max # of transits?

I'm planning an ex-BKK rtw, planning on BKK-PEK, PEK-Europe, Europe-USA, USA-SYD, SYD-SIN, SIN-BKK.

Two questions:

1) Is going BKK-PEK and then PEK-ZRH backtracking?

2) Can I connect via SIN on BKK-PEK, PEK-Europe, and SYD-BKK? My only true stopover in Singapore will be between SYD and BKK, the rest will be transits. Trying to maximize my time on SQ.

As long as you are not over your maximum permitted miles you should be OK. This routing doesn't seem to violate any of the stopover or transit rules.

Backtracking isn't a problem on Star RTW as long as you are within mileage limits and not going via the same city in excess of the number of times it is allowed in the rules . . .

I presume you are familiar with the RTW rules?

Looks fine. On *A RTW the relevant restrictions are only one pacific crossing and one atlantic crossing, only one stopover (greater than 24 hours) and max 3 transits (including any stopover) at any city.
