RTW questions

I had a couple of questions regarding RTW biz tickets, beginning in YYZ.

First, if I am interested in going to JNB on an RTW fare. I was wondering what were some of the best options people had found? Are there any other than Varig, LH or SIA? I was hoping to stop somewhere in the Indian Ocean, but cannot seem to find any carriers that would cover that.

Secondly, would there be a COS bonus in business class, even though it is a RTW fare? Or would be on a carrier-by-carrier basis?

This one I can answer. CRTW are booked in D class mostly. So far I had them on LH, SQ, UA, and TG, and all of them were credited 200% in my Miles&More. For AC flights I think it's book in C. So if I credit my AC flights in M&M, I received 200%, but if I credit to my SQ KF, I think there was no COS at all.

SAA should be joining Star Alliance in the 2nd half of this year.

OS serve both Male and Mauritius, but of the two only MLE has connections to elsewhere. Something like VIE-MLE-SIN-JNB would work (or v.v.) pending the rest of the itinerary/trip you want to do. Not a huge detour to do MLE-SIN.
No :-: carriers seem to serve Comoros, Seychelles, Madagascar.

I believe VIE-MLE is one of the "forbidden" flight numbers. At least it was last year when I tried to book it.

Male is an Austrian/Lauda charter destination and cannot be booked as part of a RTW ticket.

OS 9xxx series flights are perfectly legal for RTW. Have been for a long time.
