Question Spanair Plus enrollment

I am flying Aerolineas to Argentina and it appears that the only way I can get mileage credit is through Spanair. However when I tried to join the Spanair Plus FFP online, I ran into trouble. For one thing, after the initial screen, it's all in Spanish and I don't speak Spanish. I got to a screen that looked like it might be a place where you sign up but it asked for a passport number. I assume it wanted a Spanish passport. I tried to call the toll free number but the fellow that answered was no help (he didn't speak Spanish). Can anybody help?

You could try a web translator like that found for free at:

http://www.systranet.com/systran/net

(you need to register)

Not the most accurate but you can usually figure things out.

Don't worry about the passport number part -- if that field is marked as required, just enter something like "000000000". For some reason loyalty programs for companies based in Spain always ask for passport info (this likely has to do with certain legal requirements for Spanish residents), but they will still normally enroll you without that info.

BTW, welcome to FT!

Thanx -- that worked. It didn't like 000000000 but took 1111111111 just fine.
