Star LCC Alliance?

Few Star member's own low-cost units are in discussion for cooperation or alliance partnership, although these are individual tie-ups, but i wonder would they eventually joining hands together in the future?

-bmibaby tied up with Germanwings.

-Germanwings is assisting Polishwings plus cooperations.

-Nok Air is in talks with Tiger Airways for alliance.

or is this impossible because these are just regional cooperation?

There's the Star Alliance Regional Network:

that the smaller regional airlines have been joining.

You can also click on "regional member airlines" from the *A homepage.

Germanwings is a subsidiary of LH, which has a stake in bmi and LOT, hence they also share info on how to run a LCC subsidiary.

LCCs are called LCC because they offer no frills. Alliances have to offer some frill to the passenger. In this case the advantage is just shared expertise, technical infrastructure and ground handling.

Other examples of this kind of assitance is NIKI and AirBerlin.

I would agree, but take for example Ted, its a low-cost subsiduary of United, but still offers the ability to earn miles, and Silver and Gold *A perks.

So in theory, shouldn't this be the same with bmibaby, Germanwings, Snowflake etc. if they are classed as subsidiaries of *A airlines?
