Best program to Join

I do mainly european travel in discounted seats, so never really get any miles, but I have had trip to paris business class with BMI and a Uk domestic flight with BMI and i am flying to BNE from the UK with SQ with a bonus in miles on the MAN to SIN so around 26k miles to come in from that, I also have 26k delta miles, and around 150k Priority club points to transfer to miles.
Mrs Dino, is also traveling to OZ so if there is any way to combine her miles into what I want below

What I want to work towards is Gold level with a ff program
I will be taking the flights In europe.
Not to worried about upgrades though it would be nice, just want the lounge access really as I find it far more relaxing, and have paid for it on occasion.

So who is the best to join

Thanks

Dino

Some thoughts:

- You might want to consider accruing points with Thai Airways as they give you mileage on most fares except super deep discount.
- However, you're not going to get gold on TG. Air Canada only requires 35,000 points for *Gold so that may be achievable.
- You cannot combine your miles.

I did look at them as they seem to have the lowest level of points required for gold, but they seem to charge about 8000 more miles than BD for a europe reward flight or am I mistaken??

And sorry forgot to mention that I fly out nov and return January so it would seem that from the info on the aeroplan website I would not qualify for gold as half the miles would fall into 04 and half into 05 ???

"You must qualify for Super Elite, Elite and Prestige membership every year. The qualifying period for Year 2005 top-tier membership is January 1 to December 31, 2004."

Hmmmm...in that case things are not looking up for you (at least in terms of getting gold).

Yes, TG and AC could require more miles but at least you earn miles! I think (but have a look on www.thaiairways.com) with TG you can earn the miles in a 12 month period but you wouldn't have enough trips to get to 50K.

If you don't fly much why are you so keen to get lounge access? You may be better off trying to maximise your mileage.
