PER to BKK using amex /QFF points?
Not sure if im in the right forum, only new here
I need to travel to BKK business using amex mr points if possible. I wanted to include accomodation so my original idea was to convert points to amex travel vouchers and buy a 6 day package type thing, but Thai economy flying with four star hotel was aud$1200 or 150k mr points.
i have truckloads of Qantas FF points but they only go to bkk via sydney (no thanks) so these seem unusable (ill rip thru domestically anyway)
i can join thaisilk? and buy an BC upgrade with amex 2:1ratio for 60k mr points making the total 210k points
or
use mr to stay at radison 54k per person with business class ticket thru thai for 160k points= 214k mr points
or use mr to stay at radison 54k per person with business class ticket thru singapore airlines either 130k points (2:1 amex to krisflyer ratio) for business class saver or 185k points for business class (what is the difference?)
so here's a total of only?
=184k points +not sure if costs to join krisflyer?
this last option seems the cheapest
am imissing something as i am new to this.
is sing apore airlines the best i have available to me???
any help would be great

KrisFlyer is free to join.
TG business on a flight like PER-BKK, which last time I flew it was in a 330, is not really worth it over Y. It may have changed, but I'm not sure it would be worth it.
However can I suggest that those amex points, at several hundred thousand is a LOT to pay. Have you considered converting some amex points to whatever program and purchasing Y fares (which would be pretty cheap from PER) and upgrading using points?
Also note with SQ (and TG) award space is limited so you need to be certain you can actually get the seats when you want before you start transfering points around willy nilly.
Also, if you fly QF in J, OK, you go via SYD, but presuming you have the points this wouldn't be such a bad thing - QF are putting 744 services on PER-SYD which would give you (hopefully) the J suite, or certainly the international J class product, and it may be worth doing that even if it is a longer way to go via SYD).
Just my 2 cents on the issue.
