The links in the original post to the various RTW fare rules no longer work.
For both the NZ and SK sites.

Anyone know how I can figure out all or most star alliance flights from the east coast to the caribbean?? Or from a specific location to any location in the caribbean (I assume there aren't that many)

Star Alliance Gold

Does anyone know if I present my frequent flyer card from another A* member and flying with other different A* member, if the check-in agent can see in the system which kind of status I am? Or he just see from the card itself, since I am traveling with another airline, and not the airline of my FF program.

You should be able to input your frequent flyer number at the time of booking flights (no matter which *A airline program you belong to).

If you haven't done that then yes, you can certainly do it at the airport IME.........

Try the "Flight Search" feature on the *A website:
http://www.staralliance.com/en/booking/flight-search/

Or the downloadable *A timetable:

The system shows what status you are, but many lounges, for example, also ask that you have your card ready (even though your current status also prints out on the boarding pass).

First two links in the lounge section are not working any more.

*A RTW online mileage calculator,

This seems to work just fine, but is this domain, flightlookup.com part of staralliance.com? I spent a few unfruitful minutes on staralliance.com trying to find a link to their mileage calculator and couldn't fine one. It used to be there Has it been removed? Did I overlook it? While the mileage calculator at this link works sufficiently, I'm just puzzled. Anyone know?

Thanks for putting this together!

Hi guys

I was trying to make a booking on Delhi-Frankfurt (Lufthansa business) and frankfurt-New York (singapore airlines business) using my south african miles and was told taxes would be close to 1750 usd?!!!! Is that normal on this route? Even on economy, i was told it would just be marginally lower. I could buy flights with that kind of money!!

If you're originating in India, you will get stung for their ludicrous luxury tax on award bookings. For whatever reason, they calculate the tax on such bookings as a percentage of the full IATA interlineable fare for the journey made.

The latest fare rules can be found on the Air NZ Agent website and hopefully Kiwi Flyer will eventually get the chance to update the original post.

Star Alliance has 3 main products:
1. Round the world fares (RTWF)
2. Circle Fares
3. Regional Fares or Airpass

Does someone know how many miles will be required to redeem each? Perhaps there's an award chart online or a thread about it but I can't seem to find it. I'm assuming you can only use the miles on one partner airline to book those type of fares without being to combine miles among different partner airlines.

Thanks for any help.

Depends on the FFP I think.
