*Gold clarification

Trying to understand the value of this. Find myself flying star alliance carriers more and more intra Europe and a few routes in CA. Many times I’m checking a bag and in some cases 70 lbs important as they are long trips. Got a match with Aeroplan deciding if worth it to take a air Canada flight to maintain but also may transfer 250k to Singapore Kris flyer for a IAH to FRA flight given it’s resumed. From what I read here if I were to credit to UA but have *gold on Aeroplan or Singapore I’d get the same benefits as long as I have the card? Baggage and priority important to me but lounges also. 70 lbs or kg equivalent if can show gold as well as lounge access benefits and priority lane benefits showing card?

Intra Europe *G will only give you one piece extra if you bought a 'classic' or 'flex' fare with LH/OS/SN/LX. If in economy you get 23 Kg / 50 Lb extra that way. Business gives 2x 32Kg/70Lb anyway and *G one piece of 32 Kg more. If you buy a 'light' fare, you get no luggage and no *G extras.

In China you will get some extra on CA, but the *G number has to be in the reservation.

Switching around FFP numbers carries some hazards and might not work well reliably.

So if I’m getting *G status through Aeroplan on a revenue ticket I have to earn Aeroplan miles(assign that FF Acct) for that ticket whether it’s domestic United or intra Europe on Swiss, correct? And if I book an intra Europe ticket using United miles I can try to assign my Aeroplan number to get the benefits but it may not work, correct?

You get the extra baggage allowance benefit. However, each *A airline determines its own definition of extra baggage allowance.

For baggage, see above. Lounge and priority lane are based on availability (not every airport has those).

Also - UA *G membership does not come with UC access unless the travel is international.

Yes.

You can receive benefit from one program and credit to another. The problem is if the GA knows how to process this.

I flew recently AC on PE and I have *G. One sector was on QR Economy and I thru checked my baggage all the way. They gave me my extra piece of luggage. All 3 under 23 kgs of course. Yes it was an AC document and I have Silver on One World too. I fortunately did not have any issues with QR with my thru checked luggage.
