Aeroplan J TATL reward: Swiss vs Lufthansa
Taking surcharges out of the equation, which of these would provide the better onboard experience in terms of comfort, device, and food?

As this is a query about various Star Alliance product rather than an Aeroplan award it's been relocated to the Star Alliance forum for further input.

Which aircraft?
I think LH has more consistent service and food. LX you can get a good crew or a bad crew. I do like ZRH for transfers, though MUC and FRA are not bad.

I really hate the LH layout where the J seats angle towards each other so you are playing footsies with your neighbour when stretched out as flat bed.
That said, I also hate the "throne" layout on LX as the cubbyhole for your feet is tiny.

Neither airline offers food, service, etc. that is at all memorable. Solid for J but nothing special.

Which aircraft? Departure Time? Connection Time?
ZRH and MUC are great for connection and I don’t dislike FRA like some do. It’s big but I find it to be efficient.
The LH J product is unusual for a J product in today’s market. Ok if flying with someone but can be odd with a random neighbor.
I do like the LX Throne seat for its surface area and superior general feel but the footwell can be tight if you’re tall or have large feet like I do, but I’ve made it work on LX, AY & B6 without issue.

This is a no-brainer for 1 very simple reason, fuel surcharges. You won't pay them when redeeming Aeroplan on LX, while you will pay an arm and a leg to redeem on LH.
Both products are decent, but what I stated above should break the tie right there.
