hiya,
have come to this discussion about ukstatus rather late....so i apologise if the quest asked has been answered already. i have looked through various pages here and cant see that it has.
i have *G status. I have silver with another airline. i am moving to asia soon and would like *S staus with an asian carrier.
the ukstaus FAQ and rules dont make it clear whether or not this is possible. can anyone shed some light on this situation.

The only way seems to be to start with a fresh program and receive a comp into that Star program with a non-Star status. I saw elsewhere that the newly-comped get less upgrades than those who were sent it from their original Star status.
