Lounge Access

Hi. I wonder if anyone out there can help.

I am currently a Premier United member, but am about to start a 6 month economy *RTW trip. By the end of 2003, I will have enough miles to reach Premier Executive level with United (ie *Gold).

At the moment I only have a *Silver card. Do you know if I will I be able to get lounge access based on my *Gold status at the time I'm flying (or do I actually have to have a *Gold card)?

Thanks

Depends. Some lounge staff accepts printouts or official confirmations of the gold sttaus. Also, once you become gold, your mileage card number should change (at least in LH it does). Once printed on the boarding pass it should show XX*G XX being for the airline where you collect miles. That should be sufficient for lounge entry.

As far as I'm concerned, one is able to access the lounge once they've been promoted to *Gold, with or without their card.

You may check your points/mileage as well as your status through the internet and the customer service desk at every airport that you stop.

I am ceratin of this because I have done the same about a couple of years back with Singapore Airlines.

I am not sure about the changes on the membership number though, because mine did not change at all.

Have a nice flight...

What about if one holds a *G card but collects in a different FF program? In this case the *G will not be on the BP. Would it work to enter by just showing the *G and a BP without the *G part?

Usually no problem, as long as the name on the card and the name on the boarding pass match.

Thanks

SAS EuroBonus do change the letters infront of the number, EBB (basic), EBS (silver), EBG (gold) and EBP (pandion).

The general rule is Once you are Gold your are Gold, and if you can show it, you can use it

I used the Gold perks long b4 my card arrived just by showing proof via my account.

I am *G on AC but put my points into LH. I was always allowed into lounges with my AC card, even though the miles went into LH. Now that I am a SEN it is moot, but it was never a problem before.

From what I can tell, LH is the only 1 that changes the FF number when you change status. 3 numbers in one year, how confusing is that?
