Lounge in DXB

Dear All,
could not find anything in the archives, and do not know if this is the right forum.

Am travelling through DXB in two eeks time - departing one way on SQ F and the other way on LH F - what lounges are there - facilities ? - and what are the opening times ?

Cheers

Thomas

I show no *G lounges in DXB although both SQ and LH appear to operate their own and a "contract" lounge. Someone is bound to know for sure, but I'd hesitate a guess they both run small lounges of their own for F & J pax and the rest are sent to the contract lounge.

Last time I was in DXB, there was a LH lounge... This was a year and a half ago... I think I wrote about it in one of my trip reports...

It was decorated in LH colors and operated by LH personel, but the sign on the outside just said Star Alliance Lounge... If I recall correctly, there was no senator section....

this is actually what I wrote in my trip report back then. It's in the first paragraph... As I said in the previous post.. it was a while ago, so who knows if it's still there...

thank you for your information and the serach of your files on my behalf.

Follow on question - is anyone familiar with the transit hotel - availability / prices - it seems as they have a hourly rate.

There is also a F class section (available to *G as well!) with a better selection of snacks and drinks.

Note - 'better selelection' do not expect to have a meal this is LH!

There are some fabulous lounges at DXB, far better than the airport lounges, but you will have to ask your airline to arrange access. BA did this for me (I was on a paid F ticket, and commented that the BA lounge was a bit lacking in facilities -- they promptly arranged for me to use a private lounge in the airport, not affiliated with BA, which was 10x more lavish than the BA lounge ... no idea what this cost them, I'm sure it is not cheap, but they did not blink as I was on a paid F ticket and fly BA a fair bit). So if you are trying to carve notches into your lounge visiting belt, the gold standard is whether your airline will pay to upgrade you to the hidden lounges. The next step up is not possible by money (and I did hear the description of the next step up, rather hard to believe but it is Dubai).

what's the name of this lounge? I should try to see if BA would do the same for me, as I will be going through DXB in July...
