Need advice please...

Hi

I'm flying a United Mileage award LAX > FLR. I have the choice (with stops) of flying Luftansa or Air New Zealand.

Advice from those with experience on those airlines please!!!

- NZ has footrests in economy
- LH might have a more flexible schedule with more connections (via FRA and via MUC)

LAX-FRA-FLR: around 6.270 miles
LAX-AKL-HKG-MUC-FLR: around 18.150 miles

Yes, I believe that's the route.

and I'm flying coach < :O( ...business is always nicer but only had 60,000 miles>

Sounds like I should go for the Air New Zealand flight.

I appreciate the advice! Thank you!

Can you fly 18,000 miles+ on one award?

As much as I hate to say it, for long haul Y class, you can't really get much better than NZ *as far as space in seating goes*.
(All things being equal and discounting UA's Y+).
With 34", the extra 2" to 3" of leg room may not sound much, but on a long overnight haul, it's a Godsend. Do you have an option to travel on UA and be eligible for Y+ seating with them?
