United / Star award question

We may be NRT/BKK bound this summer on an award ticket using my UA miles.

I know we can have 1 stopover on an award ticket.

Let's say that I can't get seats to BKK. Can I book another city on a * carrier using the same miles?

ie. JFK/NRT/___

Yes, though the redemption level will be as per the * award chart, rather than the UA one. I'm not sure if there's any difference.

I think the miles to Oz are the same as to BKK. Can you stop in BKK on the way to Australia is what I'd wonder. It'd be a good use of miles if possible...

dhammer53, you like to burn MP miles for an Award ticket. The best place for discussions regarding UA MP is the United forum and this is the reason why I close this thread here and move it there.
