Which Star Alliance member should I choose to get miles on?
I will be flying ORD to FRA on LH in April, but not sure which Star Alliance carrier I should accumulate my miles on. I probably will not use too many Start Alliance airlines in the future and am a Diamond in the HH program, so I was thinking Mexicana so I can use the HH "rewards exchange" option. Any downside to going that route? Thanks, in advance.

Nothing wrong with MX frequenta... but remember that transfers are usually done in chunks of x1000 points, so you will have some orphaned miles. If you will not transfer the points out and instead want to use them, I would recommend you keep them in LH's or SQ's programs, forget UA.

Actually if you fly LH on paid C or F MX Frecuenta might be a better choice afterall. You get the same 200% or 300% for C and F into your MX account and when you became Gold at frecuenta(only 50K needed) you will get another 50% bonus(not status).
Lets take one exampel
CAI-FRA-BKK in F would be 22140 status MX miles per way. Total 44280 status miles and then you will get another 22140 extra miles when you are MX Gold. That would be over 66K miles.

Thanks for the feedback. Actually, I am in the cheap seats (fare code S), so unfortunately bonuses won't be a factor.

Would you mind filling in the blanks in the Star Alliance Chart for Mexicana (as many boxes as you can anyway)--it is one of the programs for which we have no information for my star chart
