Need Help SIN-JNB
I've booked my Y Class Star RTW, and I'll be in Singapore on the 19th of October, needing to get to JNB. Being silly as I am, I have waited too long and now SQ's SIN-JNB flights are booked solid on the 19th, 20th and a couple of days in each direction.
I'm looking to take my Star RTW to a city where it would be the cheapest to buy a one way to JNB, arriving in JNB on Oct. 19th or 20th, but the best I'm finding is PER-JNB or DXB-JNB for around $800 one way. I've even looked at going via FRA, TLV, and VIE.
I'm open to any suggestions as to what city to use to minimize the one way ticket expense!!
Thanks,
Danski

Most flights flying to South Africa are booked solid from anywhere till end of October. When in Singapore, your best bet may be to try with the local agents with MALAYSIA AIRLINES as I think SQ is quite full as well. Fares on MH from SIN are cheaper than SQ.

KUL-JNB was one of the first routes that I checked, and unfortunately it appears to be booked solid as well.
It still looks like my best bet is SIN-DXB or SIN-PER, and then buying the one way to JNB for around $800.
Does anyone any last minute suggestions (I will end up booking this eveing)?
Thanks,
Danski

SIN-MRU is a possibility - SIN flys to MRU a couple days a week, I believe. The SAA flight from MRU to JNB is roughly $400 in biz.
Edited to add: I just checked www.oag.com, and see a flight from SIN to MRU on October 20, leaving SIN at 1:20am and arriving in MRU at 4am. Mauritius is a very pleasant resort island, and worth a stay if your schedule permits. There are daily flights on to JNB on SAA and Air Mauritius.

I just looked in my Apollo.
First, your SQ information is wrong. They only fly 2X a week, on Friday and Tuesday.
Second, I am holding a sector as follows:
1 SQ 406B 22OCT SINJNB SS1 120A 545A * TU
Someone cancelled it and I will try to keep it for you. Please advise me if you want it by e-mailing me at [email protected] and then let me know how I can contact you. What class of service do you need?
FYI, there was only the 1 seat. Someone must have just cancelled it.

Sorry, I checked the fare rules and discovered that you need M class. I tried to cancel and rebook and someone must have been sitting in the waiting list. Let me know anyways because I'll keep trying to grab it.

Thank you to all who responded, I really appreciate the effort. Unfortunately, I had to ticket before today, so late last night I bought a one way PER-JNB segment.
I've definitely learned the lesson to book in advance, even on RTW tickets!
