redeeming awards
Hi,
I plan on doing the 55555 bonus. My goal is to earn miles in order to fly between Australia and the US. If I'm not mistaken, besides UA, I'd need 60,000 miles to do this trip using SQ, MX and NH.
On which of these 3 would it be easiest to redeem the miles for the award?
thanks
goodo

Take the time to consider Varig promotion as you have more time to schedule it and it's easier to comply.
All programs you mentioned and other *A programs will seek awards on both UA and NZ for the direct route US-Australia, through the Pacific.

I'm in a similiar situation, i will be using MX and NH as my 2 *A airlines.
Air Canada is the next best with 75,000 - i'd assume u'd take an AC flight across the pacific i'm not sure if this may have better seating availability.
For the 60,000 it is definitely a UA flight as UA price that way, it's their home route.
Varig, sounds compelling and I may do one more later in the year just for this - round the world fares are very compelling on *A later in the year - around a$1400 and u'd notch up the 5 *A easily with that, so you can hold off your us trip to even later and get another 55,555 later in the year. One thing that is hard to find on the varig site is the rewards rates. It talks about Varig reward flight but nothing for example of the cost from SYD-LAX on UA.... can anyone help?
