Air Canada is reputed to have it but the rules seemed to be shrouded in mystery and are not made public. Definitely there are fliers, however, that have received the lifetime award.

Not part of Star (yet) but the most lucrative lifetime status is SAA Voyager (Lifetime Platinum -- the top tier -- after 5 consecutive years of Platinum, or as little as 5x100K miles). Presumably at some point SAA will join Star/Oneworld/Skyteam in which case this becomes a lucrative lifetime benefit....for those who like to gamble. SAA just signed an order with Airbus for multi-billion dollars to re-fleet so they seem to be commited for the long run. I know of no other plan that offers top-tier status lifetime (some used to and have stopped).

From the chat last night: AC does not currently offer lifetime status, but they are planning to introduce it.
