Chnaging dates on Star RTW
Hi all - I've got an Australian issues (AirNZ issue printed on ticket) Star RTW on UA, OS, TG and SQ. I need to change the dates (not the routing)
I started calling up UA and NZ and got told by UA that NZ had to change things for me and NZ told me that I had to call each airline for the changes (no fun).
I am based in the US - what is the best strategy to make the changes myself - or should I try with travel.com.au in Australia to do it?
Thanks

I think you'll have to go back to the issuing office/TA (travel.com.au ?). In theory any * carrier should be able to revalidate the tix (ie: change dates) but they seem to be giving you the run around (I wonder why?). As you're in the US, I think you should take your paper ticket to a CTO (if there are any left near you
) and ask them to revalidate it - it's a FOC thing to do, and I don't see why they can't. Heck, I had UA revalidate an AN issued * RTW tix over the phone with absolutely no issues.

UA will do it no probs but with some prompting!
1. You must use the international desk on the phone - the domestic people will rarely touch it.
2. UA may say that they cannot change it, but you just need to be firm and say that they can and perhaps he/she should check.
Then it should be no issue.
They just do not see non UA issued RTW all that often and get a little confused.

Thanks for all the tips - I ended up doing my united change first and moving on to Austrian where the agent happily changed all the remaining flights for me - she couldn't see my united flights though...but I had already changed these.
Next time I'll just be more persistent with UA. Thanks again - I really appreciate the advice available on this forum. It helps to be able to know others have done it before when dealing with the telephone agents.
I am doing an interesting routing through Asia on my ticket - VIE - Kathmandu - BKK - OS flies VIE to KTM once a week (SG and TG fly from KTM to SE Asia) - it is an interesting alternative for going through Asia and I am looking forward to trying out the OS service.
