Priority boarding
Which star Alliance Airlines do have priority boarding for Star Alliance Gold members?
At least Lufthansa ignores that benefit.

The rule is not whether LH would like to comply or not... or the opinion of a specific LH Gate Agent !
LH being part of *A has got to comply or you have grounds for a complaint with senior management...

LH doesn't offer status-related priority boarding, and they (and some written StarAlliance infos confirm this) didn't promis to do so to StarAlliance.

The question has to be "Why Not". It does not cost them anything, yet sends recognition and "Thank you" to those people who contribute so much to their profitability and well being.

I am not defending LH.
Their (not mine) arguments is a different boarding systems by 'sectors': First (after children and handicapped) window, than middle seat, than corridor.
Also, a more or less stricter handling/allowance of hand-luggage makes it less difficult than average to store luggage even when boarding late.
In some other respects, LH is more 'tolerant' than (as an example UA) for other (partner) Star-Gold flyers, letting them check-in at their international first-class desks (UA doesn't allow other StarGold to use the 1K-check-in-line, nor the 1K lounges).

"Priority Boarding**
As a Star Alliance Gold member, you will be able to enjoy the freedom of boarding at your leisure. That's because you are entitled to board at your convenience along with First and Business Class passengers and other top-tier frequent flyer members.
**Where available"
from "Benefits - Star Alliance Gold Benefits - www.star-alliance.com
If LH has fully informed this I'd say they're partially waived from guilt; Nevertheless they should explicitly write it in the Star-Alliance web-site, where *A customers get the rules from.
One is not expected to know the details a specific carrier has implemented changing the major rules of the alliance they belong to, by writing in some documents...
By the way, Mexicana fully complies, which I guess leaves us with LH not complying ?
Sorry Rudi, but this is my opinion; I never flew LH and I'd expect to be given priority boarding. Thanks for your info, nevertheless.

Although I am not (yet
) * Gold, on the OS flights I have taken, I have not seen any type of priority boarding. Is this a general rule ?

Air Canada has the Elite benefits specified by airline on their web site. All except LH (and AN, moot point now, I guess) are supposed to offer boarding priority to * Gold members. See: http://www.aircanada.ca/aeroplan/about/qualif.html
