Luckily zrs70 got his application reversed by AN. Personally, I would have really objected if AN refused to, since it's supposed to last "a lifetime" and (even though the concept of a "lifetime" is somewhat blurred due to recent events) one would expect to have it for a bit more than a week.

I only think that no company should offer "lifetime benefits" or "infinite guarantee" or else (when you have to pay for it).
An no consumer should accept such offers.
As zrs70 said on 09/06 in this thread that it's a great deal, I warned him the same day with the simple question : "what happens if Ansett leaves *A ?".

Update, folks,
Day after I joined, I called back to void. A few days later came the end of Ansett (for now).
But for what it's worth, I still got in the mail today a beautiful leather life-membership folder from Ansett (with luggage tags, membership card, etc). I guess they sent it out before I voided.
It's a nice momento!
