RTW Upgrades

Hi. Do airlines treat RTW tickets as just regular ticket in various classes?
I'm considering getting a RTW (Business class) for my business trip to Thailand. I am curious about my chances of getting upgrades to First when I travel using this ticket.

I'm with Air Canada's Aeroplan, there is no transfer with points option for me.

I don't think so. I tried to upgrade on UA from LAX to Hong Kong on a business class tickets. And the CSR said no on RTW fare.

with AC's ff-program you can only upgrade (eco to bus) AC-segments.

with UA's program-miles you can only upgrade UA and LH segments from eco to business (no upgrades from bus to first with UA miles); but with UA systemwide-vouchers you could also upgrade UA-segments from bus to first (or with HK49ers and UA miles you can upgrade one class on inner-North American UA-flights)

with LH's miles&more program you can upgrade one class (eco to bus, bus to first) any LH/OS/NG segment (with LH miles or vouchers) and with LH miles also any UA segment from eco to business.

with all other Star-ff-programs you can only upgrade under their specific own rules fllight segments of that specific carrier.
