Join SK or LH
A friend of mine from Copenhagen has two roundtrips scheduled to the USA on LH in the next month. He also has a few other LH segments coming up. He is not a member of either FF program. I told him he was nuts not to care about the miles. So, which program should he have his LH flights credited to: LH or SK. He prefers SAS as that is his airline of choice, but I am not familiar with either program. Thanks.

If he is flying C or F class on these trips, LH M&M might be the better bet for the extra bonus miles (I understand only some of these bonuses kick in when you are at Senator elite level though - Rudi can give the full scoop) - I think the bonuses are less under EuroBonus, but then again as it just won a swag of Freddies it might be the go, specially as he is in SK's home.
Does anyone know if Eurobonus "discriminates" against Scandinavians in the same way LH M&M does to Germans (ie: higher qualification and award levels)?
Interesting dilema, but I'd prob. go with Eurobonus(SK)

If he's in C or F M&M will be the best b/c of it's double / triple miles which will count as status, too.
If your friend will go to the West Coast the math would be
2.000 for CPH --> FRA
some 11.500 (17.000 in F) FRA --> longhaul
= 27.000 biz (38.000 F) RT
all status
If there is a shorthaul cxn within the US like LAX - SAN add another 6.000 RT.

The 25% bonus with LH M&M is for FTLs too. EB
was higher qualification levels for Scandinavians too, but to my knowledge not higher award levels.

Hi,
this question came up
Does anyone know if Eurobonus "discriminates" against Scandinavians in the same way LH M&M does to Germans (ie: higher qualification and award levels)?
According to my info yes, they do in respect of higher qualification but not awards.
The awards are the same for me in Finland as they are in scandinavia.
However I only need 55000 points instead of 110000 points for EBG. Still I need 55 flights, but only 55000 points and giving that if you connect via Scandinavia you get 1200 or 2400 (in C) extra that is not realy a problem.

GO WITH LH!
I don't know why EuroBonus keeps getting freddies - IMHO they certainly DO NOT deserve them. Not that EB is terrible but it's not good either. Miles expire after 5 years, no upgrade certificates (you can upgrade by miles though) even for elite members. Upgrades are at gate on standby only. No % bonus miles for elite members either. EB is pretty basic and the big mystery really, is how anyone could vote for them for the freddies.
