First Class Lounge Access
I was recently denied access to Air New Zealand's First Class Lounge at Auckland.
As a Star Alliance Gold member (Air Canada) I thought one was entitled to the use of all Start Alliance first class lounges in the systems.
Can anyone clarify?

We are only entitled to access lounges designated "Star Gold". In Auckland that includes the domestic Air NZ Koru Club and the joint RCC/NZ International Lounge. We occasional get access to the top tier lounges (like Senator on LH) but it is not always guaranteed--they must be "Star Gold".

BB is quite right you cannot access the NZ P lounge at AKL with a *G card, except on some occasions or for some reasons they let you in.
But to be honest you did not miss much. It is smaller and more intimate than the J/*G lounge but the food, drink chairs etc etc are all identical. It is mainly just less crowded for those who like to avoid the crowds.
Also the cabin director tends to mill around and chat to people longer in that P lounge.

Thanks for the clarification, guys. Certainly, then, that's one area in which OneWorld is ahead. I can use my OneWorld gold card at any partner's first-class lounge, at least with Cathay Pacific,BA and Qantas.
