Segment runs on RTW ticket - does it work?

Is there any rule preventing you from doing a 100 segment run on a Star Alliance RTW ticket as long as you stay within the mileage limit? Backtracking is apparently allowed, and there are several short hops/high frequency flights out there. As long as you don't do a stopover (24+ hours), an unlimited number of transfers should be fine, right?

Am I missing some small print? I guess the problem is finding someone who will ticket it for you....
