Assistance as to Which FF program ???

I am currently a loyal Ansett Frequent Flyer. I am currently Sapphire (Star Silver), and will soon be Platinum (Star Gold).

I fly maybe 50 segments on Ansett in Australia, mainly between Sydney and Melbourne, which is about 750kms per segment.

I also fly 2 or 3 times internationally, mainly to Asia.

I like the Ansett program, because I can upgrade on flights almost every time, and find they are accomodating to any requests I might have.

would a international FF program be even worth considering ?????

reading your inner-australian upgrade success, I guess your best bet is to stick with Ansett's ff-program.

I should just clarify that I upgrade using points, and it seems rather expensive compared to other programs.

Your really in a no win situation as you fly mostly on Ansett your only chance of upgrades are on Ansett.

Be happy you have the option of buying an upgrade. I'm going to Asia on AC in Jan and wanted to do this and was told no upgrade reward was possible!

Yep,

I know that my success is good, but I am unable to upgrade (generally) on international flights, which obviously would be more comfortable.

I like Ansett as an airline, and will always fly them whenever possible, but would love to be able to upgrade on some longer international flights !!!

You and me both,

I have the same problem with AC. At least you can buy your upgrades, AC only comps Domestic Upgrades. In thery you can upgrade internationally but as a gold member I can only do it 48 hrs before the flight on a Y class ticket.

With my luck I would pay Triple for the Y Ticket, and still not get an upgrade!
