It's usually better than the built-in forum search. The forum software (vBulletin) is not exactly recognized for its native search function.

So OP, at a minimum, you'll need 36,000 miles, including 6 flights on A3 or OA. But, you have to spread them out.
You first need to get to Silver, and that requires 12,000 plus 2 segments on A3 or OA. Once you hit Silver, the counter and membership year resets, and then you can go on to qualify for Gold.

You could make friends with a TK Elite Plus member and have them gift you TK Elite status against 40,000 of their miles. You'd have to be a pretty damn good friend though..
