Baggages for connecting flight

I have flight on saturday PHX-SFO (United) and SFO-ICN(Korea) ( Asiana airline)

I bought tickets separately and I wonder if I could ask United to send my baggages to my final destination (ICN).

Yes, they should check it through for you (assuming sufficient connection time at SFO).

My brother in law just did the same thing BOS to BNE with United BOS to SFO and the remainder SQ. They were separate tickets and they checked the bags all the way.
