Lightbulb Suggestions from USA -> REP (Siam Reap)

I'm looking to your help to get to Siam Reap. I've tried a billion combinations, but the only thing I could find was SFO -> PNH on Dec 26th for a 1st class saver award. PNH is 5 hours from Angkor Wat, so it's not ideal

Any suggestions on combinations/permutations getting to REP from SFO (or any other airports that I can fly into)? I'm also willing to buy a paid ticket, but am trying to leverage all my United points.

Thanks so much for your tips/help!

Try BKK. It's a short, cheap flight on Bangkok Air to Siem Reap.

Good call on that - I didn't include those as my hop over. Thanks so much.

Also SIN. Vietnam Airlines, Cambodia Angkor Air, Air Asia, Jetstar and a few others fly to REP. You can also fly between PNH and REP cheaply so if you like what you found just add that.

i took it last year in November and it was pretty cheap

My usual approach is go to flightstats or skyscanner for the days (not dates) you want to arrive and depart. This will show all the airlines arriving and departing and from/to where.

Work out the time you want to arrive and depart and find the options that suit you best. There are many options linking to many cities.

I did this recently flying UA to Seoul and than ASIANA to REP all on UA Miles If you can only get to PNH take the Cambodian Airline (NOK???) for the short, cheap flight. Actually, I thought they were better than UA, but that doe not take much.

Keep in mind the UA award booking engine doesn't always match available local flights to your TPAC. Search for saver coach awards from the various connecting cities, and concentrate on F or C only for the TATL segment.
