RTW ticket problems

Hi all,

I'm not sure if anyone can help me with this, but let's try:

I'm trying to buy a star alliance RTW ticket to september, but I keep getting this error: "We are not able to confirm your selected flights. Please cancel these segments and resubmit your confirmation request. (15078 - 1008)"

Does anyone know how to work this out? I changed a few flights, but I continue to get this same problem.

I tried to contact star alliance and lufthansa (the first flight company), but neither have been helpful.

Thanks a lot!

It reads to me that flights selected are not available for RTW booking. Need more details to be specific.

I'm booking a rtw ticket beginning in Brazil and going through eastern europe, france, southeast asia and USA.

I tried to change the flights, but I keep getting the same error. Do I need to change it until a find one that goes through?

Thanks for the replys!

IST-BKK
BKK-HAN
HAN-ICN
ICN-SFO
SFO-GRU (via IAH)

I believe it is because of backtracking.

If you remove the SPU-CDG-IST legs and replace with SPU-IST it works, you also have the possibility to reorder the ATH-SPU-CDG leg to CDG-SPU-ATH

Happy travels

I don't have an answer to the original questions, but I had several RTWs with backtracking in different continents (last one just 4 weeks ago). It never was an issue, but I usually book thru my travel agent - it is well worth his fee because he handles all these issues, all rebookings (which I usually need at least once or twice per RTW) and so on.

Can't be backtracking, backtracking is permitted within any of the IATA zones,
you just can't backtrack between zones.

It's not backtracking.

I changed the route so it wouldn't include backtracking inside the continents, but it still didn't work.

Almost a week that I've been trying and no success so far.

I guess I'm going to try OneWorld instead of Star Alliance now.

Thanks, guys.

Paid *A RTW allows backtracking within the 3 IATA zones (Americas, Europe/Middle East/Africa, Asia & Southwest Pacific). Your routing seems fine in that regard.

I presume you have the minimum 10 days duration, 3 stops over 24 hours, no more than one stopover in each city, etc.

It may just be the link between the tool interface and booking engine is down. Try contacting LH (who does the ticketing for the RTW tool) - if you give them the itinerary you want to ticket they should be able to do it manually or tell you what the problem is in terms of fare rules.

Hey guys,

I guess that the problem is solved and the site engine is working, however, now I have a new problem...

The website charges me in Reais (BRL) but the site is outside Brazil. Local regulation does not allow foreign purchases in BRL. So, I would need to buy the tickets with fares in USD or Euros. Does anyone know how to change this? It's automatic in BRL with no options to change it.

Thanks again!

Save the itinerary in the *A tool. Call LH, ask for the rtw desk, give them the rtw identifier, ask to pay in currency of choice, and pay with your cc on the phone.

It didn't really work.

So, instead of buying the RTW ticket, I decided to go with separate flights.

Thanks for the assistance, guys!
