One PNR, multiple FFPs for different segments?

Later this month I am flying NH BOS-SFO-NRT-PVG-NRT-JFK-BOS.

I'm A3*G, but these flights (K-class) will only accrue 50% on Miles & Bonus, 30% on Asiana Club, but 100% on Mileage Plus.

Ideally, however, I would like to credit the outbound leg (BOS-SFO-NRT-PVG) of this flight to A3, in order to accumulate enough miles on Miles & Bonus to redeem for an award ticket, and send the inbound leg (PVG-NRT-JFK-BOS) to UA for 100% miles for the future.

Is this possible, or do I need to send all the segments on an itinerary to one FFP? Does it need to be divided exactly inbound/outbound (there are 5 days between the two legs), or can I credit individual segments to different FFPs?

If it is possible, is the best way to do it to change the FFP in the record of the outbound flights at the gate, or is it best to leave all the flights without an FFP and request retroactive credit for each segment?

It should be trivial to switch numbers between the outbound and the inbound with 5 days in between. Just give the number you want for that chunk of the journey at check in.

Quite easy to do, you can always ask at check-in or at the latest the gate agent to change the FFP number. Just make sure you receive an updated boarding pass indicating the desired FFP, don't rely on verbal confirmation that the change has been done.
