UA (Star Gold) flying EVA - Seat question

We're flying HKG/x/EWR. I'm going to book award tickets in coach.

When I checked out the EVA 777 seat map on Seatguru, I noticed they have economy and elite seating. As Star Gold, will I be booked into the elite seating area? The pitch is 38" vs 33" in economy.

FYI, UA on the 777 offers 34", that's why I'd fly EVA if the 38" elite seat is available.

UA (Star Gold) flying EVA - Seat question

No that is a separate booking class and cabin. You sit in standard economy. Star gold doesn't grant you preferential seating on other airlines.

That's not elite seating. That's premium economy, which they call "Elite Class." An entirely different class of service. Which cannot be booked using UA miles.

Thank you for the information. Looks like I'll stick with UA.

Not for a UA 1MM, who will get free E+ on UA.

That's correct. Not to mention the possibility of an upgrade if UA needs seats in the back.

UA elites can only get confirmed upgrade (including E+) on UA flights. You might get upgrade on EVA if you have good luck and they oversell economy class seats though
