UA E+ vs SAS Go Plus to ARN

Flying to Stockholm in June - any comments/contrasts/recommendations for trying SAS Go Plus (their E+) vs. UA E+?

SAS Go Plus is a premium economy product that would easily beat UA's E+ which is just extra legroom.

But it also costs more than E+.

How does catering and wine compare to UA?

I think with Go+ you can also book the seat next to you as well.

edit: sorry I was thinking of just SAS Go which is their Y and then I realized that SAS Plus is a different type of Y+ seat all together.

Generally, but not always.

If you have the chance to be moved from a UA or AC flight in regular economy (or even UA E+) to an SK flight during IRROPS, I suggest getting onto the SK flight.

Huge step up on SAS Go+. Choice of meals in Go+ which are better than the single offering in Y and better than anything I've had in United Y. Also free alcohol with meal. On United, E and E+ are the same catering.

Seats are really much better too on SAS Go+. More comfortable, more legroom, wider, leg/footrest are all more comfortable.

Are you flying EWR-ARN? I'd go with SAS. The planes that United uses for that leg seem to be the older 757s.

Great time of year to come to Stockholm, by the way

The UA 757s I've had on that route seem to have good IFE in economy class and not cap off drinks like SK does in economy class. The business class on UA tends to now be better than SK in term of the seat/IFE.

I guess it depends a lot on the crew. I have always been asked to pay for my drinks in economy coming over from ARN. Luckily I had a few chits with me but I used them all up on that flight!

Free alcohol in Y? On TATL? Recently?? I would be shocked if this was true.

SAS caps off free alcoholic drinks in Y TATL at zero. SK now in some cases has been capping off even non-alcoholic beverages that are free on UA. SK's new "service concept" in economy class TATL is the same or worse than UA's when it comes to beverages.

Along a similar question, flying from ARN to NRT in June and see several options in J on SAS, TK or ANA--although ANA is charging almost double the other two. LH is also overpriced.

Any recommendations on SAS vs TK for J and which would be preferred.

This is a confusing use of the phrase "cap off."

What's the aircraft for the TK flight IST-NRT? If it's the 773, that's better than anything SK flies (although your flight ARN-IST would be on a narrowbody). ASFAIK, SK does not have any aircraft with lie-flats, which is a huge negative on that long-haul. You might check out OS and LX. Those are both going to offer a much nicer long-haul experience than SK.

Only you can decide on the trade-off of nonstop versus a much nicer aircraft.
