Fare Buckets on *A
Where is the best place to see fare buckets for regular and award availability on Star Alliance carriers? Does such a search function exist? I've tried expertflyer but didn't have much success.

There is no single source which does all the airlines perfectly; all of the resources have their limits.
United, ANA, Avianca and Aeroplan are all useful for award searches but each is slightly different from the others in terms of what they have access to, what they show and how they account for connecting itineraries.
For revenue searches FlightStats is one of the more comprehensive options but, again, not perfect.
No need to pay for any of this information; all of it is free if you know where to look.

KVS just screen scrapes from free airline websites, it doesn't show any more or less than what is available there. As noted:
ExpertFlyer does uniquely allow you to see revenue + award classes for some of their supported airlines via their Award search if that's what you mean, but that's about it.

There are very few which are unique within *A. Other than M&M availability on awards (and even that is available directly if you're a M&M member) I'm not sure what they have specific to *A which isn't available through the other resources.

As you note, depends on usage.
In the *A space flisea.com, wandr.me, awardnexus.com, ana.co.jp, united.com, aeroplan.com and lifemiles.com all offer useful chunks of comparable data. Each is a bit different in the feature/function set but all are viable. I'm sure there are others as well.
