Chicago to Venice

I need to take a later flight from Chicago to Venice in business on Feb 7th.

I have the 2 options :

Chicago - Copenhagen SK 944 2205-1320+!
Copenhagen - Venice SK 2691 1710-1910

or

Chicago - London UA 938 2100-1105+1
London - Frankfurt LH 905 1230-1505
Frankfurt - Venice LH 330 1650-1810

SK only have 1 flight ORD-CPH each week. If the flight is cancelled due to bad weather, I might need to re-issue my RTW ticket.

I would appreciate your view on this.

I believe they will put you on different flights without the need of a reissue in case a flight is cancelled. I had this situation a few years ago and they just put me on a different airline/connection.
In my opinion two connections in LHR and FRA during winter time have a higher risk.

SK 944 is daily.

Another option to consider is LH via MUC, departs 2120.

SK would be my last choice. A seriously inferior business class product.

Why not LX through ZRH?

Thank you all.

LH via MUC is my 1st choice as well but it is full in C for RTW.

LX via ZRH is leaving too early for me and is also full in C for RTW.

Unterwegs has a good point about LHR & FRA connections. I have just booked SK.
