Most useable points

Hi Everyone,

I've reviewed my flying schedule for the next few months and it looks as if even if I can't get a status match, I'll hit the equivalent of BA gold after about 3 months. I was looking at going the Aegean route for a quick fix but it then looks as if I'll end up with stranded miles - is that the write way to think about it?

In this context, which is the best program to build up miles on that you can actually use. I'll still be pushing the bulk of my mileage through OW as we find the redemptions extremely easy to use and quite cost effective.

Ideally, I would like my wife to be able to use the miles I build up (if that is an option at all) as I can quite often get travel passed onto a work account.

We will be splitting our time between Europe and the US going forward with regular travel between

US: Chicago, Boston, New York
Europe: Dublin, London and Manchester.

And in between these places too.

We're agnostics over if we join a European or US program just as long as the pints we build up can be used over say a 24 month period. I've had scraps of Lufthansa points and to be blunt they just seem to be useless.

Any advice would be most welcomed and well received!

Why would you consider A3 when most of your flying will be OW?

Take a look at the AA Platinum challenge, great bang for the buck, err, Euro.

How many threads do you need on this topic?
And you have the same question in the BA forum.

If you are mixed between OW and *A, consider the US share promo ending 6 Dec. Given you have an acct older that 12 days, and either miles on it or finding a share partner quickly.
