IST-PVG Codeshare with CA

I have a question about this - I'm trying to book business class on this flight TK0020/21, out April 13th and back April 19th. CA has a ticket available, both ways as I need, on the codeshare side. TK, who operates the flight doesn't show space to the agent when I call and says that J is full. They do say I can waitlist for J.

The weird thing is, when I look up in Expert Flyer it has plenty of open seats - up to 15...

What do you all think? Do I buy with CA, and risk no seat? Do I buy CC, which has space? And then waitlist?

The CA ticket is $3400 in J and the TK ticket is $1600 in CC and $1350 upgrade/waitlist each way... so $4300.

OR! Do I book both, see what happens and cancel the one that doesn't work when I know more next week?
(both have little to no cancellation fees)

PS - this is posted in the TK forum but perhaps this is a better place. Hugely appreciate any feedback.

I'd book the CA codeshare, if you get the e-ticket issued then I wouldn't concern myself too much about it.

Assigned seats are not the same as sold seats. Just ignore that bit of data.

I'd buy the CA seat and see if it actually books/issues. If it does then you should be fine.

Thanks! Here's the rub - I booked the CA fare, through Amex Travel. They both see it as booked and ticketed. When I call TK to assign a seat - they say they can see the ticket, but see no Conf Code and can't do a seat assignment... Does this mean they could turn me away at the gate? CA and AMEX say there's nothing they can do...
How can i be sure I have a seat?
