Question Changes to Star Alliance Passes

Just went to *A Online Booking Tool and saw this notice:

Please note that Star Alliance is currently streamlining its product range and all booking requests for the following fares will need to be received by February 13th, 2013:
Circle Asia Fare
Circle North Asia Fare
Brazil Airpass
Japan Airpass
Micronesia Airpass
Middle East Airpass
South Pacific Airpass
Thailand Airpass

Does anyone know what the streamlining might be?

Did One World also eliminate their Japan air pass? If so, this is still competitive -- otherwise it isn't.

Weird.

Asia Airpass is still sold on sector fare structure. Star alliance website has updated its rule page on 18FEB.

I called ANA and was able to book a Japan Airpass. The cost was $220 for two flights. On the home page of their website, scroll down and look down the left side for the option to book flights with Japan Airpass. You will need your ticket number from your international flight and your passport number.
