Valid Routing on *A? - Using United
I am trying to book a *A award ticket using United Mileageplus. My tentative routing is as follows:
YYZ-LAX-SIN-CMB (destination and open jaw)
Return:
MLE-IST (Stopover)-YYZ
This has both TATL and Tranas Pac segments, and I am not sure if that would be allowed.
So is this a valid routing? Is there anything I can do to maximize my award redemption (by adding another stopover or any other means?)

You most likely get more answers quicker when you post in the United forum, since the rules for all the different airline programs are different (it matters which miles you use and not which airlines you fly)

You should be fine. The TATL/TPAC thing is not an actual issue for most US cities. I know since I've actually booked an award trip similar to yours last year. The agent might raise an issue, but if she does, just tell her to enter the details and let the computer price it out. The computer will almost always price it correctly. The agent will be surprised and tell you that she needs to confirm with her supervisor since the computer may have made a mistake. Then she'll come back in a few minutes and tell you that everything is alright.
