Complicated Baggage Allowance Question

Hi there,

I am flying from SYD to YEG on a long, complicated award itinerary that is as follows:

SYD-BKK (TG F)
BKK-NRT (TG F)
NRT-ICN (OZ F)
ICN-LAX (OZ F)
LAX-YVR (UA J)
YVR-YEG (AC J)

I have two questions. Firstly, what is my checked baggage allowance on this itinerary? I think it has something to do with my "Most Significant Carrier" but I don't quite understand what that means.

Second (and third) question: What is my cabin baggage allowance? Does it also follow the "Most Significant Carrier" rule?

allowance

it depends?
syd-lax is clear. its F.
are you doing a lax stopover? if so, i would expect the usa agents to let you only checkin the J allowance.

if you check the luggage through from F, than F all the way applies.

but be prepared if you have a stopover, that the agent even if tehre was another rule in place, will tell you that only J luggage allowance applies.

Thanks for the response.

I am not stopping over at LAX and am checked all the way through to YEG.

I know that I'll have F allowance the whole way, but what I meant to say was which carrier's F allowance will I have? Will it be unlimited pieces summing to 40kg? Or will it be 2 pieces each allowed to be 32kg?

I'm assuming it'll be the latter, but I'm just not sure. :S

are you really flying this without a stop? this would be insane!
if you are having a stopover somewhere, its a hit and miss.

usually if this is one ticket, and its all on one ticket, you will be allowed 3 x 32kg.

if you checkin in syd, and check it all through to the final destination, the australia to usa luggage concept of TG will apply. i assume that its the 3 x 32kg rule, as you are flying to the usa. i have never seen a kg concept on itan, if the final destination was usa.

but, if you check the luggage to lets say icn, there might be other rules, and it could possible that its only 40kg with unlimited numbers of pcs. (but if you check it all through, i would say its a save bet, that you get the 3 x 32kg)
