It is confirmed, TAM will leave *A. Mauricio Amaro, the new president of the LATAM holding Adm. Council, confirmed that yesterday. It is unsure, however, if TAM will join OW or remain solo. They say that, after *A is notified, it will take approximately 6 months to complete TAM's departure.
In that sense, I would like to ask the experts which *A company they would suggest for the TAM *A GOLD members to join ?
thanks much.

Would you be kind enough to provide your source for that statement ? Up until now I have heard lots of rumours, but you are the first person I have encountered to state it as a definite happening and provide a date, so I guess you have a source which others have missed ?

That is disappointing for Star Alliance.
Although Avianca is joining, we're quite well represented in the Northern Part of South America. Aside from the long haul flights to get to Southern South America, I think that the gap was in the connections to and around South America for Star.

Sure there will be a huge gap. You simply cannot compare TAM's network with Avianca, especially if you consider that most of the traffic coming to South America happens through GRU, GIG and EZE.
TAM's leave is a huge blow to *A in the region and a bigger blow to us , the *A fflyers here.
