Layover Issue

In booking international first class award space, let's say on Swiss, if the connection between flights is not until the following day, some 20 hours after arrival, will the airline pay for a hotel room? I'm planning a trip from LAX to BOM and in some instance face this problem, especially now that Lufthansa is severely restricting 1st class seats available when using UAL miles. Thanks.

If you're paying for international F or C, some carriers (e.g. SQ, TK) do offer overnight or day rooms at their home bases. But, as a general rule of thumb, answer is no, hence plush F lounges. Plan on booking your own hotel room.
