AC vs TAM to EZE?
Hello,
I need to go (from NYC) to EZE in January. From the looks of things, my two most inexpensive options are either AC via YYZ/SCL or TAM via GRU.
I'm Elite on AC, so there's the possibility of an upgrade, and I generally like AC's service, but I'm not loving the idea of two connections. Also, I'll almost certainly get sent on to secondary screening in YYZ, which is really annoying, especially if I have a tight connection.
Does anyone have any experience with TAM? I've heard really bad things about their service and reliability, but it would be quite nice to not have to go north to head south, and not have to hang out in SCL.
What should I do?
Many thanks for all thoughts.

Did you select the 50% bonus miles option as part of your AC Elite package? These extra miles might have an influence on the decision making process.

Nope, I opted for lots and lots of eUpgrade credits - figured I generally fly enough to be E on my own, and there's virtually no way I'll get up to SE even with the bonus, so why not enjoy big seats and champagne more often.

The Elite bonus are not status miles. Although I'm not familar with TAM. But if you still have a lots of E credits left and not many AC flight booked this year then I'd go with AC, good service in Y, with chances of upgrade.

The consensous on TAM on the Trip Report Forum is not good. Take a read for yourself.
I would stay with AC
