*A to Vietnam
I'm looking for suggestions to Vietnam next year and came up with some decent options using miles. The LH 380 was a big disappointment so discounting the excitement for that, anybody have any experience based advice on the following:
NYC.. routing to Europe on CO/LH then HAN via TG
NYC-TYO-HAN routing via ANA
NYC-ICN-HAN routing via OZ
I purposely left out UA but am open if you can convince me....
This would be in business or first depending on availability.
Again, I'm searching for routing, metal and comfort along the way. Once I make my decision based on your suggestions I'll do my search and destroy for award availability.
Thanks!

How about JFK-ZRH-(asia)-HAN?
The consensus seems to be that LX is the best *A TATL carrier in C...
Obviously you would want to fly out of JFK, not the crappy PrivatAir C class from EWR...

I recently flew to SGN on the new UA F product and it was acceptable. Both the food and service on the UA premium classes seems to be improving.
But I don't know if there is a good connection on UA/CO via any of the above listed hubs.

The only *A hubs that allow direct connections to HAN are ICN, BKK, SIN and WAW. The most direct route would be on OZ (JFK-ICN-HAN). I don't know if the JFK-ICN service has the new OZ C product.

Not sure how LOT's premium classes are though...

In April I flew ICN-HAN in Asiana C. It was supposed to be their new C product (Quadra Smartium) but got swapped out for an older A330. Still a very comfortable flight even on their older product. I was quite impressed with OZ's soft product.

You could also take TK to BKK or SIN via IST. LX via ZRH, SAS via CPH or OS via VIE is another option. BKK-HAN on TG, SIN-HAN on SQ.
LH,TK and UA fly to SGN, not HAN. Flights inside Vietnam are inexpensive when you book directly on the Vietnam Airlines website. You could also fly into SGN and then continue on a paid ticket to HAN (it is about a 1-2 hour flight)
